Radio DJ releases an album of live music to fund future promotional videos for Irish artists…
98fm’s John Barker founded Press Record www.pressrecord.tv with producer Robin Ball in March 2014. Their goal was to help showcase the best in Irish music by producing high quality videos of acts giving incredible performances live in a recording studio environment. Over 90 videos have been released since then with nearly half a million views in total! They have worked with some of the best in Irish music such as Jape, Le Galaxie, HamsandwicH, All Tvvins, The Minutes and Fight Like Apes, as well as lots of new and hugely talented acts. The aim was simple – let’s create beautiful videos of amazing Irish acts performing live with high levels of production and sound.
Today, Nov 10th 2016, the duo release a brand new album – Press Record #1 – featuring 11 of the most memorable live performances from the past 2 years. The proceeds from the album will support them in creating quality Press Record videos in the future and help promote more great Irish acts.
Press Record are releasing a new single from the album featuring the wonderfully talented O Emperor performing their song Trash Club live in-studio. The song is taken from the band’s EP ‘Lizard’ released in November 2015.
Using this unique way of generating funding and released with the full support of the all the artists involved, the live album is available to purchase today for €10 with all proceeds going towards future Press Record videos. Thursday also sees the team release a brand new video for one of the most exciting new acts of recent times TooFools. The 9 piece have been getting rave reviews since they formed in 2015 and have steadily built up their fanbase through their exciting and energetic live shows and blend of disco/funk music. The video for their song Torn shows the vibrancy and talent of the band and also includes a stunning vocal solo from Helen Murray.
