They will be open from Nov 23rd right up to New Year’s eve. Shoppers can leave their festive purchases with Dublin Town staff in the secure and insured locations so they can fully enjoy the magic of Dublin’s city centre shopping bag free.
Lord Mayor of Dublin, Brendan Carr said “Christmas is my favourite time of the year and I am really looking forward to seeing the magic of Dublin City at Christmas. Dublin City Council is proud to be involved in the Dublin at Christmas partnership with DublinTown. As Lord Mayor, I call on everyone to come into the city centre on Sunday, 27th November and join me in switching on the Christmas tree lights on O’Connell Street. Spend time in Dublin this Christmas and enjoy the many great events taking place this season.”
DublinTown CEO, Richard Guiney said: “I can’t think of anywhere that does Christmas as well as Dublin. Town is a magical place at Christmas with its own unique and wonderful atmosphere. We all have memories from our childhood of this special time of the year and each year it is great to see so many children coming in and having a great time, visiting Santa, wearing their favourite Christmas jumpers and looking up to see the dazzling Christmas lights. This year there will a truly spectacular set of new lights on Henry Street which, no doubt will be a huge draw to the area. Christmas is what Dublin does best. Dublin Town and Dublin City Council are partnering again this year to make sure that each and every Dubliner has another Christmas to remember.”
