Video for “The Sunset Is Blue On Mars” can be viewed here

Jack Lukeman as unveiled the video for the single “The Sunset Is Blue On Mars” the third of 12 videos that have been shot for the forthcoming original album ”Magic Days”, set for release on Friday 27 January 2017.  The video can be watched here. Jack is also set to perform three special intimate shows in Dublin’s Whelan’s this December on 2, 21 and 22 December with tickets on sale now from www.whelanslive.com and www.ticketmaster.ie.

When discussing “The Sunset Is Blue On Mars” Jack has commented “This baroque pop n roll song was inspired by a picture that the Mars Rover took of the Martian sunset revealing it is in fact blue, and I love things that put the magic and the mystery back in the world turning normal perceptions upside down making anything possible and so the lyrics flow that way.

Fresh from a successful run at the Hollywood Fringe festival where he picked up 2 awards for the premier of his show “The King of Soho and Other Stories Stories”, “The King of Soho“, is the first single from the forthcoming album. It is a guitar and horn fuelled stomper telling the tale of our antihero’s internal conversation as he tunnels his way out of jail and imagines all that was and will be, when he reaches the light at the end of the tunnel, with metaphor and myth riding side by side in this classic bardic tale. The song is already a live and radio favourite with its memorable hook and chorus. The accompanying video, which can be viewed here, is the first of the 12 videos that have been shot for the forthcoming album.

“Fox News Blues” the B-Side of “The King Of Soho”, was released along with the accompanying video to coincide with the American election. The video can be viewed here. According to Jack, “The Fox News Blues is a reaction against the comical fear mongering negative nature of modern news. It’s important to be informed but to be inundated with bad news is not good for the soul. You have got to love more than you hate and the world is far more beautiful than it is ugly. Hate and fear on the hour every hour is exhausting. Watch out for the energy vampires.

It’s gearing up to be a busy time for Jack with a return to touring duties in the UK with Jools Holland’s Big Band hitting prestigious venues like The Royal Albert Hall, plus several European dates and a run of 3 nights in Dublin’s finest venue, Whelan’s, where the album will be released exclusively at shows and on jacklukeman.com with a full release in the new year.

“Magic Days” will be available on pre-release from now, the innovative pre-release strategy will see the new album available in 2016 only at Jack Lukeman Live shows. This innovative strategy is a reward system for Jack’s loyal fans who have supported him through the years while also building anticipation for retail release of the album in Jan 2017.
